AROTIN & SERGHEI
Combining the acoustical and the visual world, AROTIN & SERGHEI integrate in their installations elements of architecture, music, science, film and texts in an extreme aesthetic reduction and densification.
One of their first realizations was a kinetic iron interactive sculpture of 6 meter height exposed for the inauguration at Richard Meier’s Museum Stadthaus Ulm, Germany.
They realized Installations in the Museumsquartier Vienna and the MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.
This intermedial and theatral approach of visuality is described in “Visualità e spazio nel teatro di Alexander Arotin”. Thesis by Stefania Rossa published at Ca Foscari University Venice 2005.
A central point in the work of AROTIN & SERGHEI are projects developping future technologies, materials and concepts for the arts.
With success AROTIN & SERGHEI created 2004 the „space-screen“ installation, an electronic 8x8 meters SCREEN PAINTING for Beckett’s Godot allowing a performer to get physically into an virtual image, with interactive manipulation systems, developped in the project “BING!“, a collaboration with Ircam - Centre Pompidou Paris (MUTE SPACE)
Actually AROTIN & SERGHEI are also working on contemporary music theatre projects in new visualization systems.
